Objectif<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are countless studies highlighting the costs already observed or expected from the sudden impacts of climate change. However, proactive measures to prepare for and adapt to these impacts remain rare and insufficiently ambitious.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The aim of this conference was to open a discussion on how to take into account the assessment of the costs of inaction in terms of adaptation in collective choices and investment decisions. The aim was to bring long-term and highly aggregated assessments down to the actual timeframe of decisions (e.g., the horizon of a mandate or a medium-term strategic plan) and to pay particular attention to who bears (or will bear) what costs and who will be the beneficiaries of adaptation. We need to sharpen our focus in order to move from assessments designed to raise awareness to data that is truly useful for comparing options, identifying those who could contribute to their implementation, and building economic models for climate change adaptation policies and projects.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
