We now also need to prepare for the impacts of climate change, in other words, we need to adapt.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In France, public authorities are driving all stakeholders to address adaptation issues as part of their decision-making process,\u00a0taking into account\u00a0the national reference warming trajectory. This so-called\u00a0<i>r\u00e9flexe\u00a0adaptation\u00a0<\/i>echoes with the resilience by design principle discussed at the EU level.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nevertheless, we are still far from ready: not\u00a0all of\u00a0our investments are +4\u00b0C\u00a0compatible\u00a0and, despite progress in recent years, the resources dedicated to adaptation, whether financial or human, are too limited.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Furthermore, important decisions remain to be made regarding how to adapt to this new climate context. Certain expenditures will be unavoidable to better understand vulnerabilities and respond more effectively to crises. Others will require trade-offs to decide what to preserve and what to transform (which developments, which sectors, which activities, etc.). To help inform these choices, <strong>I<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4<\/span>CE<\/strong> is studying the economic and financial models of the various adaptation options: Which investment needs? How to distribute costs and benefits, considering the capacities and prerogatives of public and private actors?
