{"id":60753,"date":"2023-01-12T15:34:10","date_gmt":"2023-01-12T14:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.i4ce.org\/theme_travail\/europe\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T15:00:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T14:00:02","slug":"europe-en","status":"publish","type":"theme_travail","link":"https:\/\/www.i4ce.org\/en\/theme_travail\/europe-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0EU has set\u00a0itself clear\u00a0long-term\u00a0objectives\u00a0for reducing greenhouse gas emissions\u00a0for 2040 and 2050,\u00a0while\u00a0also\u00a0addressing challenges related to competitiveness, industrial\u00a0transformation\u00a0and energy security.\u00a0In a challenging geo-political context,\u00a0accelerating\u00a0the climate and energy transition is\u00a0a central component\u00a0of the EU\u2019s policy\u00a0wider policy\u00a0framework.<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Draghi report (2024)\u00a0highlighted\u00a0the urgent need to boost both investment and innovation in the EU,\u00a0to develop a\u00a0stronger business case to decarbonise the industrial sector and to reinforce the EU\u2019s competitiveness.\u00a0This has\u00a0placed the\u00a0climate\u00a0transition firmly\u00a0at the nexus of a decarbonisation and reindustrialisation agenda.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is against this backdrop, and with the aim of advancing the relevant policy agendas, that <strong>I<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4<\/span>CE<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211; Tracks and analyses <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.i4ce.org\/en\/projet\/state-europe-climate-investment-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">the evolution of the climate investment gap at EU level<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, over the years and across a range of economic sectors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211; Examines <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.i4ce.org\/en\/projet\/european-union-financial-instruments-for-cleantech-and-climate-innovation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">policies and related European public funding dedicated to the production of clean technologies<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211; Analyses the challenges and levers to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.i4ce.org\/en\/theme_travail\/financial-regulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">accelerate\u00a0private\u00a0bank financing<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0including\u00a0through\u00a0financial\u00a0regulation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;
