Voluntary carbon certification and the low-carbon standard

Companies, local authorities and even individuals are ready and willing to finance projects on greenhouse gas emissions reduction or soil carbon storage, to offset their own emissions or to simply contribute to the collective climate change effort.

But to do so, they need guarantees: on the method used to calculate avoided emissions or regarding actual project implementation.

For this reason, I4CE studies the quality of the voluntary carbon certification frameworks that currently exist worldwide, and is supporting the Ministry in the development of a new certification system for France: the low carbon standard.
