EU ETS and regulated carbon markets

Emissions trading schemes – or carbon markets – are part of the toolbox of governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Many other initiatives have followed the establishment of the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) in 2005.

I4CE monitors the development of these markets around the world and analyses their functioning to ensure they are effective in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
