Energy transition

80% of the world’s energy comes from fossil fuels, whose greenhouse gas emissions are exacerbating the climate crisis. Fortunately, there are more and more proven and affordable alternatives to fossil fuels, . In Europe, producers and consumers aim to transition away from fossil fuels in less than 30 years, through a combination of energy conservation, energy efficiency and low-carbon energy sources. To achieve this, households and businesses must undertake critical investments. Public authorities can foster and secure this transition.

I4CE analyses the economic drivers of the energy transition, taking stock of the situation and identifying the obstacles and levers specific to each sector. We want public authorities to anticipate the budgetary, fiscal and regulatory means to deploy low-carbon solutions in all sectors. We are also looking for solutions to accelerate innovation and the adoption of clean technologies.
